Hotel “Goldener Stern” Transforms its Mini Golf Course into an Adventure Golf Farm Experience

The “Goldener Stern” hotel is located in the village of Memmendorf, close to the town of Oederan, midway between Chemnitz and Freiberg in the state of Saxony in eastern Germany. The hotel is a popular venue for birthday celebrations, weddings and anniversaries as well as business conferences. Guests include families, companies, clubs, motorcyclists and travel groups. It is also especially well known for its Alpaca farm, which is one of the largest in Germany.

Owner, Wolfgang Eckardt, recently decided to upgrade the old mini-golf course on the premises into an exciting Adventure Golf course with a rural farming theme. Over the years, the 12-hole mini-golf grounds had started to look tired and worn, and a simple cosmetic makeover would not have given the desired results. The solution was to emulate nature itself by creating an imaginatively-themed Adventure Golf Farm experience for players of all ages – from 3 to 90 - with an adjoining natural-wood playground.

The new 12-hole Adventure Golf Farm course at Hotel “Goldener Stern” was built during the winter months and opened in time for the Easter break. It immediately became a huge recreational hit with visitors, who can play the fun-filled crazy golf course, surrounded by alpacas in the neighbouring fields. As an added attraction, a new farm shop, next to the Adventure Golf course, serves homemade ice cream and alpaca products, while also doubling as info point for dispensing putters, balls and scorecards.
