Adventure Golf now attracting 25% of all golf participants in the UK

A “Golf Actives” survey - carried out recently by Sports Marketing Surveys (SMS) on behalf of the European Tour – produced some very interesting findings. In particular, the study demonstrated that Adventure Golf is not only top of the non-traditional forms of golf being played in the UK, but it is now challenging traditional 9-hole golf courses for numbers of players.

Over a 12-month sampling period, one fifth of the UK population (9.3m adults and 1.7m children in the 6-17 year age group) had some kind of involvement with the game of golf. Of these, 2 million (22%) adults and 700,000 (41%) children played Adventure Golf, equivalent to 25% of all golf participants in total!
